Bronwyn Bancroft
In 2007 Bronwyn was specially commissioned by the Health and Arts Research Centre (HARC) and Auburn Hospital redevelopment to develop a glass design. The five storey high glass work in the main stairwell of Auburn Hospital was titled The Universal Journey.
On the central themes of the artwork Bronwyn says: "The work shows the journey that every human, independent of cultural differences, will travel….Live to Love, Love to Live and Love".
The Universal Journey by Bronwyn was painted in half of the scale: 10 x 0.6 metres and then enlarged and produced into a special glass for the main stairwell of the hospital. Each of the 5 levels in the hospital reflects the Universal Journey, connecting with the services provided on the level and providing a beautiful metaphor for our lives and our connection to nature.
