Bronwyn Bancroft
In 2011 Bronwyn created the work Weavings of Light and Life for the Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre. The work was commissioned by Leichhardt Council in collaboration with the Leichhardt Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Consultative committee.
The work consists of seven brightly coloured glass panels located amongst the Centre’s gardens. Each work was created in response to the local landscape and history of the original people, exploring the themes of land and foreshore, protection, food collection, water as a life source, songlines, kinship, and fishing.
